NLP strategies and techniques in children.

Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), is known, as the power that the word has in the brain of children, what we pronounce and communicate to them on a daily basis, will definitely have a great effect on the behavior patterns of our children. Therefore, the good use of words and proper communication will have a positive effect on self-esteem and in general learning processes.

NLP consists of using teaching strategies that lead to the improvement of neurons in the face of language perception and learning. The words used in a positive way, lead children to have appropriate reactions to different situations, allowing them to have a more positive outlook on life. The words that are transmitted to them daily are what build their thoughts, for this reason the importance of being careful with what we tell them, their mind processes all the information that is sent to them, conserving it in their memory and influencing their personality and character. .

Within the basic principles of neurolinguistic programming is highlighting the positive aspects of children by focusing more on their strengths and abilities. Linking games in these processes will be the best way to promote values and apply techniques properly.

Some strategies that we consider may be the most important to use NLP are:

Speak and affirm positively: Within this technique is assertive language, the words that are sent to children will create a mental projection in them of what they are and of their environment, the affirmations must be based on what we want to achieve in the children.

For example, you are a very intelligent child, if you study a little more for your exam, you will have very good results.

Eliminate the word NO: Every time an instruction is sent to children, the word “NO” should be eliminated since it is usually not assimilated by the brain, prompting the child to do what he was asked not to do. Saying "don't do that" gives you a sense of curiosity and you will want to do it more.

Example, instead of saying "don't take the vase that can break", it is better "what if we play with the ball that is more fun".

Talk to them with love when you want to teach them a routine: When teaching them, you should try to do it in a loving way, as this will have a greater impact on the child's learning. If we say: "wash your hands", in the form of an order, the stimulus that is being generated is negative and whenever you have to wash your hands it will be boring or you will not want to do it.

Talk to them while they sleep: When the children are sleeping, it is recommended to talk to them in a low voice and in a loving way.
Example: "you are a very obedient child", "we love you very much", "you are very important to us", "you are very intelligent", avoiding including "NO".

By performing this technique while sleeping, the subconscious receives this information, programming the child to achieve goals such as having good behavior, loving her parents even more, being obedient, among other things. It is important that this exercise is not accompanied by kisses or pampering, since the opposite effect will occur, the consent to sleep generates in children capricious and rebellious behaviors.
