Women have long been oppressed and experienced several inequities across the world. Reading books published by critical thinkers from many countries, locations, and eras in history are one of the most acceptable methods for a woman to build strength, wisdom, and confidence.
Even though there are hundreds of books available, both new and old, there are a few outstanding novels that every woman should read. It might be challenging to find the proper book.
Because there are so many genres to pick from and even different categories within these genres that may or may not pique your interest.
Also, almost everyone has been asked what their favourite book is at some time. When you’re talking about your favourite genre or author, it’s pretty easy to come up with that response.
When someone asks you about your favourite book of all time, it’s a whole different situation! But we don’t simply remember fondly the novels we read when we were young and impressionable.
And any self-respecting woman should not miss it. Classic novels to current literature, romance to adventure, feminism to self-development are all represented in this collection of books.
These novels all have distinct topics, but something in them will make you reflect on who you are and how you want to conduct your life by looking at the world from a new viewpoint.
So sit back, get a cup of tea, and enjoy these lovely stories about real women who face genuine difficulties and challenges like you.
1.- Maya Angelou’s I know why the caged bird sings
This book is well written, and we admire Ms Angelou’s candour in recounting her life from childhood to maturity.
We discover that Ms Angelou does not hold back in recounting facts of her life and times in her earlier novels. Her words can be harsh and vicious at times, but they are always lyrical, sincere, and faithful in portraying how life was for so many people during that period in American history.
2. – Diane von Furstenberg’s The woman I wanted to be
In her new memoir, The Woman I Wanted To Be, fashion legend Diane Von Furstenberg says that she first realized her goal as an entrepreneur when she sat down with a pencil and a piece of paper at the age of sixty and wrote out what she wanted her life to look like.
It provides us with a behind-the-scenes peek at her illustrious career, with several illuminating stories about her accomplishments and setbacks. Whether or whether you are interested in fashion, she is a fantastic success story from which everybody can benefit.
3. – Alice Munro’s The beggar maid
In The Beggar Maid, Canadian author Alice Munro tells a narrative of forbidden love, betrayal, remorse, and redemption via realistic characters and excellent writing. This is a fantastic collection of interconnected short stories.
It was both enthralling and moving. It made us feel something when we read it, which is what I seek in a tale.
The premise was excellent, and each individual had a compelling backstory to tell. Several twists and turns had us on our toes at all times.
4. – Elie Wiesel’s Night
One of ity’s most influential philosophers and Holocaust survivors, Elie Wiesel, wrote Night. It’s truly a one-of-a-kind book.
It is set during World War II, from when it began until the time it finished. Night portrays what it was like to be alive in those gloomy times via suspense and mystery.
It depicts what life in concentration camps was like for Jews and how others responded to them being abused and slaughtered simply because they were different. Some people were unconcerned about their being carried away, while others, regardless of religion or colour, risked their lives to save them.
Takeaway
If you are an ardent reader who can’t put a book down after reading the first page, this is a book that every woman should read.
It makes no difference which one causes you to pause long enough to recognize that while life isn’t perfect, there are lovely things all around us every day to remind us to be grateful for what we have.
